Visit!

The visit with mom got canceled today. Supposedly she is sick.

Dad didn't show up for his visit yesterday.

Ruh-roh! What will happen now, I wonder? Court is on the 30th.

In other news, C came home from his visit yesterday and told me "I peed in my poop at my mom's!" Incidentally, turns out he was peeing and pooping at the same time. While wearing underwear. Lovely, right? At least they were outside when it happens! He generally has an accident on every single visit. I am not sure what the deal is. I haven't mentioned it to anybody yet because I don't know if it is important or not.

  1. Does he still have accidents at home with you? If not, then yes, it's probably important.
    Wonder what bio-mom would do if she had 3 little children and 1 big child at home she had to deal with whether she was sick or not...
    Hmmmm.

  2. He doesn't really have them with us, but I know I am a bit of a toilet nazi. I watch him like a hawk, and if I think he needs to go potty then I just tell him he needs to get on the potty (even if he gets mad about it I just tell him if he won't get on the potty then he has to go to time out, then he will usually get on the potty). Then if I am sure he needs to poop but he won't, I either just have him sit on the potty while doing something (watching TV or something like that) or else put him in a diaper. But even when he is wearing a diaper he usually tells me and we can get to the potty before he goes to the bathroom. Very rarely does he have accidents but I'm not sure if it's just because I pay so much attention to ensure it doesn't happen.

  3. Do you have a set schedule on when you sit him on the toilet? If so, pass that info along to mom.

    We had a 4 1/2 year old that started peeing in ther pants when we told her she was seeing dad the following day. It ONLY happened when she knew she had a visit. We told the CW but nothing came of it.

    We have a 2 year old that eats until he pukes. We have it under control until visit days. He eats for the 1.5 hour visit with mom/dad and then for the next solid 3 hours at grandma's. We have a wonderful case aid that is a former foster parent and is very concerned with this eating pattern. Did I mention he's in the 110% of his weight?

  4. I have told her before that I normally put him on the potty every 2 or 3 hours - her visit is only 4 hours so he should need to go at least once but maybe twice. He normally has a full bladder once he gets to our house after the visit so I'm not sure if she even has him go at all, except for when he has accidents.

    That is crazy about your 2 year old! I know our kids snack 24/7 at their mom's house but they don't stuff themselves that full, thankfully. They just eat a lot of chips and candy and all that good stuff right before bed time. :/

  5. I'm your newest follower (and a new foster-mom myself)! :) I would tell someone- if nothing more than to let them know that someone needs to tell the mom to make him go more. I worry that our fs' mom isn't learning enough of these small things about him and will be shocked if she ever gets him back. She probably just doesn't even know better. {Then again I'm new to your blog, so excuse me if my comment is way off base!!!}
