Baby boy

I did my update the other day on my phone, so didn't have much of a chance to say what I was wanting to say.

I was a little bummed at first about it being a boy. Like I said, I in no way should have been surprised. In fact almost every night I was dreaming about opening a cupcake to find blue frosting inside.  Not to mention the other boy dreams I have had.  I've had only a very few handful of girl dreams my entire pregnancy.

And it's so silly, I mean wow, I get to have a healthy baby boy! How many women never get to experience that in their lives?  And heck, up until about 4 months ago I never thought I'd get to experience it in my life!  I think I just wanted another girl because I'd like Miss M to have a sister, and boys can be a little bit, you know...crazy? Is that the word I'm looking for? We have WWF in our living room on basically a nightly basis. And sometimes it's exhausting.  The energy that they have is amazing. And a little girl could be just the same, obviously, depending on her personality.  And then I got to thinking about how Miss M is such a handful (although it's attitude, not energy!), and maybe God knew I could only handle one daughter. Ha!

I had a better relationship with my brother growing up, but now that we are adults I am closer with my sister (she finds out the sex of her baby today, yay!).  Both relationships are very special to me though.

But anyway, yesterday I started looking at ideas for the nursery (which obviously won't even exist until after we move, which will be after the baby is born).  But I figured if there are things we want we could register for them maybe.  And I have a name I really (and I mean really!) like but I don't think Brian cares for it, but we'll find something and now that we know it's a boy we only have to worry about two names instead of four.  So that's good!  Less fighting! ;)

I'm warming up more and more to the idea of another little boy. And one of my dreams (months ago) was that we had a brown-haired little boy that was about one year old, and found out I was pregnant again. So I mean really, you never know. :)

Then last night when Brian got home he and I were talking, and as soon as Brian started talking the baby started kicking and moving around like crazy. It was the sweetest thing.  The baby can definitely hear us now at 21 weeks so that is pretty darn cool you have to admit!

In FIVE DAYS I will officially be a mother of four. I mean legally. It is amazing to think about!

  1. I hear you on the girls being different than boys. There are days where we consider telling our placement agency that we'll only take girls. :)

When I was pregnant with my 3rd, I wanted him to be a girl (Shh, don't tell). When he wasn't, I was a little disappointed. Now, 8 years later, I wouldn't trade him for anybody. Once he's here, you'll love your little man; it's OK to feel a little sad that you aren't getting Miss M's sister.

  2. Congratulations on your little boy! The good news... Boys are so much fun. I have 5 boys and one girl right now and we are... surviving? LOL! Anyway, the crazy boy stage goes from 18 months to about 3 - 5 years depending on personality. We'll just ask Jesus to give him a very sweet personality!

    1. Amen to the part about the sweet personality! I'm hoping to give birth to the most laid-back peanut on the face of the earth. :)

  3. I am excited to have found your blog--my husband and I are just starting out on a similar journey after not being able to conceive for almost 3 years. I'm really excited about fostering...but know I have no idea what I'm in for! Congratulations on you baby boy, that is SO exciting especially when you have been dealing with issues in getting pregnant. I look forward to reading more of your story~thanks a bunch for sharing it. :)
