You might be pregnant if...

If you try to calm a hysterical 2 year old by singing "You are my sunshine" and rocking her in the dark...and then start to get all choked up at the thought of someone taking one of your babies away.

Hormones, I tell ya what! The song did work, though. :)

Also a bit of random information: yesterday I had a piece of chocolate cake and laid down for a nap. Normally I sleep on my tummy and so far it hadn't caused too many problems. But yesterday when I laid down all I could feel was "flutter flutter flutter". I could hardly sleep because the baby was tickling me on the inside. I think she likes chocolate cake as much as I do. ;)

Got a call from preschool today that C was puking, so I went to get him about an hour earlier than usual. He puked all his lunch, and was just puking stomach acid the rest of the night. He can't even keep water down. If we all get sick I have no idea how i'm going to deal. Normally I have a pretty tough stomach but today as I was cleaning up his barf I almost lost my cookies. At least he puked in his bucket every time. It could have definitely been worse.

The news

In the spirit of this being my blog, and knowing that if anything were to happen I'd be blogging about it, I am sharing my news. So, several weeks ago I started feeling sick. We have been so lucky this year, we really haven't been sick at all which is really saying something considering the number of people who live in this house. I figured we were due, and wasn't too worried about it. You already know where this is going don't you!?!?!? Birth Story

Before I worry all of you, I want to let you know that at 5:24 a.m. on Thursday, January 17th, I gave birth to a 3 pound baby boy. He is healthy and doing awesome so far. I was exactly 29 weeks into my pregnancy. This is my birth story. The evening of the 15/16th I was having some contractions. Nothing too crazy though. The morning of the 16th I complained to Brian that every time I moved in bed I had a contraction.  After what happened last week (having contractions, went to L&D, nothing was wrong) I just assumed it was basically the same. The 16th was my 30th birthday.  I felt pretty crappy all day.  I assumed I was either starting to get sick (since my 3 little ones had been sick) or else that my body was working hard to fight off the sickness. I went to the Social Security Office to request new SS cards for the kids, came home and took a nap, and swept and mopped the kitchen floor. Good news/bad news

Ben has been putting himself to sleep for nap times! Can you believe it? If you would have told me a week ago that Ben would be napping on his own right now I would have laughed in your face and said no way! NO WAY! Yesterday he took THREE naps on his own, the first two were an hour and 15 minutes and the last one was only 40 minutes, but hey beggars can't be choosers! I just nursed him, put him down in his bassinet awake, patted him a minute, then walked away. No crying, no fussing, and when I left he was awake. It's a miracle!  I think it has really helped that he has apparently developed a great love for his middle and ring fingers, and sucks on them regularly. It looks like he's signing "I love you". :) The bad news is, he has a cold so he's not really sleeping any better at night.  Last night he was up 8 times between 8 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. this morning.
