Just the latest

We got a counter offer on the house, and we turned in a counter (counter) offer.  Hopefully we will hear back by Tuesday, and then maybe get this show on the road. I guess if they reject it we're back to square one. Ugh. I so want this process to be over.

In other news, I got a super long FB message from bio mom. She basically went on about her mental health and all her diagnoses, all her physical health problems, and how her life is going right now. She also said thank you for the stuff that I sent her and said she thought the kids looked happy and healthy.

I'm not really sure how to respond. I feel bad because it's been like a week since she sent that message. She didn't say anything about seeing the kids but the impression we got is that she isn't going to be seeing them anytime soon. She said something about waiting a few months and if she is stable then adopting a dog or something. I'm not really sure what she was talking about. So, I am thoroughly confused. She seems like she thinks she is doing well though so I guess that's good. I have no capability to see through any lies or anything with her, I know she is a very good manipulator and I know that I tend to be easily manipulated especially with the sob stories. But she doesn't want anything from us so I guess there is nothing to worry about.

Mr. Ben is not sleeping well. Actually he sleeps best during the day in the sling, which also means that I am NOT sleeping at those times unfortunately.  Ugh. He can sleep up to 3 hours at a time in that bad boy (but usually only 1.5 to 2 hours). But in bed at night he is sleeping only 1.5 hours at a time usually.  I am not sure what to think. I wonder if that's just how it will be until he gets bigger.  It stinks though.

In other news, he rolled over for the first time yesterday!  He rolled over once and I kind of thought it was a fluke, and put him back on his tummy. He rolled over again.  Then he did it again! Then I decided I should maybe video it, and he did it a fourth time and I got it on camera.  I don't know how I'm going to convince him to have tummy time now that he knows how to get out of it. He is not a fan of tummy time.  He did roll over again today so I guess he has kind of figured it out. Not bad for a baby that is not even 2 months old adjusted!

Ben's head is starting to get a weird shape. I just noticed it a few days ago. I think it's because he always lays on the same side.  So we are working on getting him to lay on the other side sometimes.  I'm sure it will round out as he is able to sit up more on his own and stuff but nobody wants to have a weird shaped head!

Yesterday I took all 4 little kids to the dentist by myself. Of course Ben didn't visit the dentist, he just came for the show. It went surprisingly well. I was able to get all 3 middle kids appointments at the same time, so we were in and out in about 40 minutes which was good.  Then Brian watched all the kids for me today so I could go to the dentist. Yaaaaay! Not really. I am not a fan of the dentist but I have really good teeth (thanks Mom!) so my appointments are usually quick and easy which I am thankful for.

So I downloaded this new app on my phone called 100 push ups.  It helps you be able to do 100 push ups in  a row in 30 days or something. Anyway, I have done two days of the program. It's great to do when Ben is doing tummy time, so I can hang with him and also entertain him at the same time. To start it out you do as many push ups as you can, then it makes a program for you based on your ability. I could do zero actual push ups, so I decided I'll just do "girl" push ups on my knees. It's better than nothing, right? I knocked out 11 in a row, and did 45 total yesterday and then 50 total today. My arms are sore, not gonna lie.

I am also starting to do crunches.  It is hard to get out of the house to work out, and these are things I can do that will just help make me stronger over all I guess and make me feel like I'm doing something! I'm hoping one of these days Ben will sleep in his own bed, and I can get back into my routine of getting up super early and working out in the morning before everyone else is up.  I miss doing that.  Every day Ben wakes up at 6:30 (seriously, it's like clock work, totally amazing) and sometimes he nurses and goes back to sleep and sometimes he stays up. If I always knew he would stay up I could just take him running with me for a mile or two quick. But, you just never know with that kid.

  1. I hope you can get some rest soon-he is really being challenging in the sleeping dept. You might need to give yourself a time out to get some rest!
